Photography is a Meditation
A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety. ~Ansel Adams
Some photographers would argue that photography is a solo pursuit to get to that perfect shot. Many spend hours in finding that perfection by buying more expensive equipment or reading many forums and books to get inspired. However, they miss the most important point that in this quest for perfection they get consumed by their negative emotions and actually miss that beautiful shot.
Photography and Meditation are very related. In Meditation, we learn to pay attention to the present moment - to stop for a minute and observe our surroundings. We try to let go of the past or future, clean the head of those obscure clouds, and dissolve in the moment. Meditative Photography draws from these concepts. The idea is to enjoy the process, walk through the woods or sit in the garden and pay attention. Your perfect shot will come out naturally as you breath air into it capturing time standing still.
To deepen this knowledge and photography techniques, we offer photography classes that are conducted in the nature or in urban setting. Various photography and meditation techniques will be taught to the students.
